Timothy Stewart Obituary

July 22, 1965 - March 7, 2025 Timothy James Stewart, age 59, of Lisle, IL passed away peacefully on March 7, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on July 22, 1965 in Hinsdale, IL, Timothy was the beloved son of Robert James and Maureen Cecilia (nee Tattera) Stewart, and a cherished brother to Brian Keith (Patricia), Tammy Anne (Keith Pioro), and Kathleen Helen Stewart. He was a devoted uncle to Erin, Sean, Patrick aka "Harry", Emily, Connor, Daniel, and Cecilia. Tim grew up in Naperville and Southern California. He graduated from SS. Peter & Paul grade school, Naperville North High School, and University of Illinois at Chicago with a bachelor's degree. He went on to lead a remarkably successful career in sales. He spent 26 years at Phillips & Johnston in Glen Ellyn, IL, the last 16 of them as Vice President of Sales & Marketing. Tim approached life with a gentle spirit and a kind heart with lots of gusto for the finer things in life. A lifelong traveler, Tim, visited something in the neighborhood of 56 countries spreading peace, love and understanding everywhere he went. He possessed a remarkable sense of humor and connected easily with everyone he met. His passions included travel, food, and live music. Tim saw one of his favorites, Elvis Costello, live in concert well more than thirty (30) times. He was a resolute member of the Lisle Kiwanis, playing Santa at Christmas events, organizing local parades, helping seniors with lawn care, along with cooking and serving at annual pancake breakfasts and luncheons. His passion for kindness and giving back to his community inspired all that knew Tim. While Tim faced his illness privately, those who knew were inspired by his positivity, strength, and grace. Tim continued to work, including business travel internationally right up to the time of his passing. Timothy will be deeply missed by his loving parents, siblings, nieces, nephews, and a multitude of friends and colleagues who treasured his presence. His laughter and smile as well as his pension for jokes, storytelling and good-humored mischief will be missed but will also be forever remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing Tim. A Memorial Visitation will take place on the evening of Thursday May 1, 2025, from 2pm to 7pm at Friedrich Jones Funeral home located at 44 S. Mill Street, Naperville, IL 60540. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic church located at 36 N. Ellsworth Ave., Naperville, IL on Friday May 2, 2025, at 11am followed by an internment at the SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery located at 701 North Ave., Naperville, IL 60540. These events will be followed by a luncheon at a location TBD.
