Timothy Lee Thacker

Timothy Lee Thacker, 70, of Spencer, passed away peacefully, at his residence on Sunday, September 24, 2023. Tim was born in Anderson, Indiana on June 7, 1953 to Richard W. Thacker and Wilma J. (Dixon) Thacker. Tim was a 1971 graduate of Spencer High School. Tim married the love of his life, Leigh Ann (White) Thacker on March 28, 1977 and together they raised a wonderful loving family. He retired in 2019 from Indiana University School of Optometry where he worked as a Machinist. Tim was a member of the Sycamore Valley Gun Club and attended Little Flock Primitive Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, wood working, camping, volunteering, helping others and spending time with his grandchildren. Tim was a proud member of the NRA.
Tim is survived by his wife, his daughters, Sara Roberts, Amy (Brian) Tamplin, grandchildren, Zachary Dawley, Ethan Dawley, Ava Dawley, Molly Tamplin, Mallory Tamplin, siblings, Curtis (Benita) Thacker, Jim (Teresa) Thacker, John (Debbie) Thacker, sister-in-law, Shirley Thacker, brother and sister-in-laws, Jill (Brian) Huntington, Jack (Deanna) White, Sally (Bill) White, Mert (Jamie) Jones and many nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends.
Tim was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Rich Thacker.
Funeral services will be 6:00 PM, Thursday, September 28, 2023 at West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home, 105 North Montgomery Street, Spencer, Indiana. Brother Todd Durnil will officiate. Burial at Gross Cemetery will take place at a later date.
Visitation will be 11:00 AM until 6:00 PM, Thursday, at the funeral home.
