Timothy S Tidwell escaped this mortal realm to join those one with the force on Wednesday, February 7th, 2024. Our own personal Obi-Wan Kenobi fought valiantly through life to leave a legacy none will forget.
He leaves behind three birth children, and four adoptive daughters on top of a handful of grandchildren that will miss witty comebacks and random dad jokes delivered at the most unexpected times.
His Jedi training began in 1983, when the US Army gained another recruit, due to Yoda's unavailability for the next dozen years. After accruing numerous medals, certificates, secretive war stories, saving the universe twice, and one vigorous basketball game in Korea, he was medically discharged and sent back stateside.
Upon his return, the Order informed him that his job wasn't over and he joined the workforce as a teacher, coach, NASA enthusiast, master technician, all-around pain in the arse, and the best-underrated comedian of his time. Jar Jar would be proud. Though many medical conditions did arise over the years, none slowed him down. Instead, he used most to his advantage.
One time, while on blood thinners, random bruises appeared in the oddest of places. Many who knew him would express concern, but this was his moment to shine. His response was always the same, "Well, Pam told me to shut up but I thought she said sit up and it all went downhill from there."
Through Championship sports games, last-minute report cards, law and order mock jury games, and several death-defying trips to Houston and back, Tim retired from the Killeen Independent School District to spend more time with his family. It lasted six months before his wife sent him back into the workforce because "he needs something to do." Thus, he joined Texas A&M University, Central Texas as a wise old man despite being a diehard Longhorn fan. Hook'em!
Tragedy struck in 2021 when he transitioned into an essential worker when he lost his wife to Covid in July. There wasn't a day that went by that he didn't miss Pam. But now, almost three years later he is with her once again. Probably bugging the hell out of her, but this time she can't make him go back to work to leave her alone.
Over the years, Tim touched many, annoyed severely, and made most laugh whether they wanted too or not. So, to those friends, family, mortal enemies, and anyone part of the dark side, just know that this is not the end. The force is everywhere and you never know, he might just show up green and see-through to tell you you're doing something dumb or tell a random joke. Just watch your back, and may the force be with you.
