On Wednesday September 11, 2024, the angels came to take our beloved Timothy (Timmy) home to rest in the arms of Jesus. Timothy Charles Watkins was born on January 6, 1962, in Columbus, OH to his loving parents Wilbert Sr. and Barbara Watkins. He attended Columbus City Schools throughout his elementary and high school years and continued his education at Columbus Technical Institute (CTI), presently known as Columbus State.

Timmy was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed coaching, watching, and playing sports. He was a diehard fan of the Washington Commanders, LA Lakers and of course his beloved Ohio State Buckeyes. Since childhood Timmy could tell you the stats of each player including those who were on the bench on any team. He was also a mastermind in games; it was hard to beat him in board games, dominoes, or card games because he could look at the board and tell what had been played and what was still out. Timmy also was a fan of music (all genres), but his favorite music was anything by Prince.

Timmy loved his family dearly. He adored his two daughters Amber and Marchita and was very proud of the women they became. Likewise, to his daughters, he was their #1 Guy. Roshad, who he loved like a son was his right-hand-man. They looked after and cared for each other daily. To his grandchildren he was affectionally known as Pawpaw, and to him they were his “Man-Man,” “Little-Little Girl” and “Fat Baby.” He was a bright spot in their lives, and they were an even brighter spot in his. He loved to play games, teach them magic tricks, and check in on their homework. When they walked into the room his face would light up. He also had a very close and loving bond with his siblings. He would make sure they felt his love each day by sending a daily morning text, wishing them well and telling them how much he loved them. He also enjoyed spending time with his friends. Timmy was loved by all who knew him, and never met a stranger. His personality could fill the room with joy and laughter. He was always joking and pranking, but always there to listen and to lend a helping hand.

Timmy is preceded in death by Father - Bishop Wilbert J. Watkins, Mother - Lady Barbara A. Watkins Brother – Wilbert J. Watkins Jr, and nephew Devene Watkins He leaves to forever cherish his memory… daughters Amber L. Keaton, Marchita T. Briggs, sons Brandon Richardson, Antoine Bender, and Roshad Ward, grandchildren Azaun, Arianna and Azaria, Siblings, Karen Watkins, Norman (Sally Watkins), Shelia Watkins, David (Christine) Watkins, Sherri Watkins, and Kia Watkins, beloved Uncle Bishop Sherman S. Watkins, Special Aunt Wilma “Tee” Watkins, and a host of nieces and nephews, his long-time friend James Jamison and many other friends and relatives.

“In life we loved him dearly, in death we loved him still. Timmy will forever hold a place in our hearts that no one else could ever fill”.
