Mr. Timothy Leroy Whitehead went home to be with the Lord on, February 23, 2024.  Visitation for Mr. Whitehead will be March 8th, 2024 at Henderson Funeral Home Chapel from 5pm-7pm; at 6pm the Hawkeye Elks Lodge #160 of DMS, will do their last rites. Service will be March 9th, 2023 at Hope + Elim, at 12pm-Noon. Mr. Whitehead will be laid to rest at a later date.





Tim was born December 18, 1964 in Moberly, Mo to Mary Vydella Chapman and Roy Lee (Buster) Chapman. Tim was educated in the Des Moines public school system. He graduated from Tech High where he enjoyed sports and ROTC. Tim enlisted in the Marine Corp after graduation and served 3 years. Tim worked various jobs until he settled into a career as a truck driver. When he was no longer able to drive he worked at John Deere, Des Moines Works and finally part time with Per Mar Security. Tim loved riding his motorcycle and fishing. He was a member of Inner City MC. Tim was also a bowler and a member of the Des Moines Roadrunners Bowling Guild. Through bowling is where he met his wife Regina. He and Regina went on their first date June 18, 2005 and were joined in Holy Matrimony August 7, 2005. They were married 18 1/2 years. On February 23, 2024 Timothy received the heavenly call to come home. Preceding him in death are his parents Oscar and Emily Whitehead, and Roy Lee Chapman. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Regina, daughter Lyna Williams-Whitehead, mother Mary Vydella Chapman, bonus daughters Teaya (Michael) Guiden, Y’Teva Robinson, Adeya Robinson (Roger Brannon), seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren, Brother Troy (Sheila) Chapman, Carlos Chapman, Sister Carla Tigue, a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
