Timothy Wilcox Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 7, 2019.
Timothy Virden Wilcox passed away August 7th, 2019 after a six month battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 71 years old. Tim was born in Oakland, CA and lived in Hayward, CA most of his adult life. Tim always loved electronics and while in high school entered and won a First Place Ribbon in the Alameda County Fair for a Tuner he made from scratch. He also loved photography. He spent much of his life behind a camera and his love of tinkering and creating spread to computers, which he enjoyed building and setting up. He served his country in the Army and was a Viet Nam veteran. He was a lineman in Viet Name and was a target for snipers as he climbed poles to string phone lines. Tim had several jobs during the course of his life. He was a truck driver, a sound technician, cable installer and computer installer. He worked as a Network Administrator for an airline at the San Francisco Airport for many years. He repaired and built computers as a side business and he also created web pages for various clients. He had a press pass and had many photographs published in local papers. He loved women, deviled eggs, lumpia, York Peppermint Patties, ice cold Pepsi and good cheeseburgers. He loved cats, small dogs, feeding small birds, good jokes, sleeping in the nude, beautiful faces and the touch of a woman's hand. Tim was not fond of government intrusion, war, anger, cruelty, vegetables or people of played the accordion professionally. He never drank alcohol, smoked cigarettes or took recreation drugs. Tim never married or had children but was a very caring and generous person He loved people and was kind, gentle and very giving. He frequently loaned money to people even when he knew he wouldn't be getting repaid. He helped people with computers, phones and created web pages for free. He gave rides to the carless and to those who were ill. He also fed the hungry. That was Tim. He is survived by his sister, Judy Rasmussen of Oroville, CA and a half sister Barbara Shuger of Foresthill, CA. He will be sorely missed. A memorial will be held in San Leandro sometime in October, 2019. Rest in Peace Brother.
