Tina Lynne Gillow, age 62, of Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2025. She was born on November 11, 1962, in Baraboo, Wisconsin, to her parents Judith Bloss and Kennith Charles.
Tina grew up with a vibrant spirit and a love for adventure. As a teen and young adult, she dedicated much of her time to horseback riding and competing in horse shows, where she earned numerous awards and cherished lifelong memories. She also competed in pageant shows, showcasing her grace, confidence, and undeniable presence.
Her love of performing naturally led her to the Texas Renaissance Festival, where she became a beloved cast member known as “The Dragon Queen.” There, she created lasting friendships, unforgettable performances, and a persona that reflected her passion for fantasy, creativity, and bold self-expression.
Later in life, Tina embraced another world she loved—gaming. She became a devoted player of Mass Effect 2, rising to the top ranks and even earning a place on the official leaderboards. When she wasn’t playing herself, she spent countless hours supporting other gamers, streamers, and content creators. She was especially proud to mentor and guide her daughter, Khira, sharing both her skills and her encouragement.
Tina attended Reedsburg Area High School, graduating with the Class of 1980. Throughout her professional life, she worked in concierge and secretarial roles, where her warmth, reliability, and dedication made a lasting impression on colleagues and clients alike.
Tina is survived by her mother, Judith Bloss, and her daughter, Khira Vitak, who was the light of her life. She is preceded in death by her son, Jared Gillow, whom she now joins in eternal rest.
Tina will be remembered for her humor, her creativity, her fierce intelligence, and the love she poured into the people and passions that defined her life. Her legacy lives on in the memories she created, the community she built, and the family who will forever hold her close.
At this time, our family will not be holding a public funeral service for Tina Lynne Gillow. We appreciate the kindness, support, and condolences we’ve received during this difficult time.
For those who wish to honor her memory, we kindly ask that in lieu of flowers, you celebrate her life by enjoying a day at the Texas Renaissance Festival, a place she loved deeply and where she was known as “The Dragon Queen.”
Thank you for keeping her spirit in your hearts.
