Born in the Pinetta Community near Ocilla in Irwin County, Georgia, to the late Archie Lee Jones and Abbie Evoline York Jones Mulkey, Faustine (Tina) made Moultrie her home in 1961, when she married Kenneth Jack Hunnicutt.
Tina was passionate about family and supporting her husband, children and grandchildren - she was a wife, Mother, Grandmother, neighbor and friend. She often told her children and grandchildren - ”Don’t forget where you are from” when you go out in the world.
Faustine was part of two loving families growing up- Jones and Mulkey. Each family was guided by the firm hand of their Mama and the dynamics of all the brothers and sisters. Tina was the youngest of the Jones family. She always pointed out that her mother made sure no one went hungry and her brothers and sisters were good to her. Faustine was particularly focused on the fact that “her father passed away before she was born and therefore, she had never seen her father”. Faustine’s curiosity about her father prevailed all her life and she looked forward to this reunion of father and daughter.
Faustine completed high school in Ocilla in 1957, Home to the Irwin County Indians and where Faustine was a cheerleader and always shared fond school memories. She always enjoyed her class reunions.
In the late 50’s, Tina visited her older sisters in Moultrie and met Jack Hunnicutt at the local YMCA. In July 1961, they were married and since have resided on the “Upper Meigs Road”. Tina worked at Riverside Manufacturing and was proud of her work but became a full-time mother early in her career to raise her family and support her husband.
She was active in Cherokee Garden Club and the Moultrie Federated Guild. She was a devoted member of Funston Baptist Church for more than 60 years.
Tina is survived by son, Greg (Susan), daughter, Angela (Patrick) and son Plenn (JoBeth). The apple of her eyes were her grandchildren, Selden, Wythe, Phelps, Wheeler, Kilby and Thomas; great-grandchildren, Agnes and Eller; sisters, Christine, Barbara Ann (Edward) and Linda Lou; and brother, JB (Carolyn); as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
Tina is preceded in death by her husband, Jack; siblings, Evoline, Ruby Deen, Geraldine, AC, LW, George, Bud and Brenda Sue.
The family would like to thank caregivers, Bobbie Allen and Renee Mims and her entire team.
