Tina Marie Simmons, 60-year-old Pryor resident, passed away at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa on September 5, 2024. She was born January 28, 1964, in Riverside, California to Bob and LaVon (Smith) Simmons. She attended Hissom School until its closure in the early 2000’s. She then moved into her own home in Pryor where she worked for Zebco on the assembly line.
Tina was known for her bubbly, sweet, yet ornery personality. She never met a stranger and was known to use her favorite line, “This is my new best friend,” when meeting someone new. She loved to listen to music and dance. She also had a fondness for all animals. She loved to eat with her friends and family and always looked forward to the next gathering over a meal.
Tina is survived by her siblings, Tony Lewis Simmons and wife Jeannie, Johnny Lee Simmons and wife Lisa, and Brenda Parker and husband Joe, all of Ketchum, Oklahoma; April Williams and husband Stonie of South Coffeyville, Oklahoma and Amy Weaver and husband Joe of Cleora, Oklahoma. Sixteen nieces and nephews, numerous great-nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her father Bob Simmons, mother LaVon Ruth Smith Simmons Cutsinger, stepfather Tom Cutsinger (whom she affectionately called Tom Turtle) and sister-in-law Patty Simmons.
The family will receive friends Thursday, September 12, 2024, from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at Luginbuel Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, September 13, 2024, at the Ketchum Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Ketchum, Oklahoma with Pastor Chris Knott officiating.
