Tito Moreira Da Silva Rebelo

Tito Moreira da Silva Rebelo was born on April 4, 1943, in the Portuguese parish of Messajana, Alentejo, Portugal. He was born to Jorge Artur da Silva Rebelo and Julia Maria Moreira. He was the youngest of seven children, all of whom also preceded him in death: Brothers Telmo, Armenio, Armindo, Flavio, Octavio and sister Olga. He was also preceded in death by wonderful friends and family including Eldora and Eduardo Santos, Eduarda Couto, and Nicolau and Lourdes Lima. He is survived by his beautiful wife of 60 amazing years, Laura Rebelo, whom he met at the young age of 20 while serving in the Portuguese Navy (for ten years!) in Ponta Delgada. He is also survived by his son Marco Rebelo and daughter in law, Mary Vega, his daughter, Sonia Rebelo and son in law, Andy Volk, his daughter Carla Rebelo and son in law, Kevin Coelho, grandsons Oliver and Sebastian Volk and granddaughters Kayleigh and Avery Rebelo and Marissa Coelho.
In 1972, Tito and his family immigrated to the United States where Tito made his way into the hearts of the Portuguese people by being a broadcaster with the Portuguese radio and being a pillar in the Portuguese community both in Connecticut and California. Broadcasting was his passion. Tito was proud to be Portuguese, but was also a proud Portuguese-American. He loved learning history. He loved to talk and to sing. He loved his church and singing in the choir. He loved little children and they loved him. He loved Benfica. He loved his friends and adored his family. He loved sitting in the sun. He loved to laugh. He loved to love. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his family and good friends on October 30, 2025. He was loved and will be missed by everyone who knew him.

Services will be held on November 22, 2025, at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 2602 S. Walnut Rd. Turlock, CA, at 2pm. Reception to immediately follow at Casa dos Açores, 8385 Lander Ave. Hilmar, CA.
