Titus Eugene Hatcher, Sr., 86, of Kansas City, MO, passed away on September 8, 2025, at the Kansas City Hospice House. He was born in Kansas City, Missouri, in 1939 to Helen Canterbury and Herbert T. Hatcher, Sr., the fourth of six children. As a teenager, Titus worked shining shoes at Union Station. After graduating from Manual High School, he worked in construction until he became employed with Certainteed Corporation as a Maintenance Mechanic and Fire Marshal. In 2001, he retired from Certainteed after 35 years of service. Titus was married to LaVonne Street Hatcher until her passing in 1996. They were blessed with five children: Helen, Titus, Wayne, Maria, and AnTony. In 2009, Titus married Louise Lang, and they became a blended family. Titus enjoyed his retirement years relaxing. He was lovingly known as "Papa" to his grandchildren and great- grandchildren. Titus was preceded in death by both parents, daughters: Helen Hatcher Caldwell, Maria Hatcher Carter, sister: Sarah Hatcher Smith, brother: Rev. Carl Hatcher, daughter-in-law: Faye Hatcher, brothers-in-law: Charles Perrino and Charles Smith. He is survived by his wife, Louise, sons: Titus, Jr. (Gracie), Wayne, and AnTony, son-in-law, David Caldwell; bonus children: Rebecca Davidson (Mark), and Amy Lang-Johnson (Shan); sister: Margaret Perrino, brothers: Herbert T. Hatcher, Jr. (Sandra), Harold Hatcher (Peggy); grandchildren: India Brown (Rakim), Cecelia Cobbs, Stephanie Caldwell (Randy), Josh Caldwell (Madison), Titus Hatcher, III, Dianna Carr, Milo Riddick, Sr., Myosha Carter, Dwayne Carter, Jr., Ashley Hatcher Lloyd (Lamont), Kortne Hatcher, Kumari Hatcher, Tony Hatcher, Jr., Kamal Hatcher, Brent Davidson, Elizabeth Davidson, Danielle Johnson, twenty-six great-grandchildren, and a host of family and friends. A memorial will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, at the Lawrence A. Jones & Sons Funeral Chapel.
