Funeral services for Mr. Gerald Carlton, age 77, will be held Friday October 10, 2025, at 2PM, in the chapel of Shelton Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held Friday October 10, 2025, starting at 10AM until service time in the chapel of Shelton Funeral Home.

Gerald Glenn Carlton, born on March 6, 1948, in Eaton, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2025, at his home in Trenton, Tennessee. He was 77 years old. Gerald lived a full and spirited life defined by hard work, deep loyalty to family and friends, and an unmistakable zest for living.

A retired truck driver and ranch hand for Holloway Farms & Construction, Gerald was no stranger to long days and honest labor. Whether behind the wheel of a big rig or tending to the livestock , he took pride in every task he undertook. Known affectionately by many as a loving family man who never met a stranger, Gerald had a magnetic personality that drew people in. He was the life of the party-a prankster with a quick wit and a twinkle in his eye. Always a flirt and forever a cowboy at heart, Gerald's charm was matched only by his generosity. He would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need and considered everyone he knew as part of his extended family. Gerald's home was more than just four walls-it was a gathering place where laughter echoed through the halls on weekends filled with stories, music, and memories. He mentored many of his nephews-whom he proudly called "My Boys"-teaching them not only how to drive a truck or rebuild an engine over a weekend but also how to ride horses and embrace life with courage and joy. His legacy lives on in those lessons and the countless memories shared around his table.

He is survived by his sons: Dwight (Jason) Carlton, Justin Carlton, and Shawn (Heather) Gross; grandchildren: Maddison Carlton, Trevor Carlton, Harley Gross, Trinity-Bucket Gross, and Rhett Carlton; great grandson Carter Ryan along with great nieces and nephews who referred to him as granddaddy ; sisters: Marlyn Adams and husband David, Sandra Ernest, Shelia McCaig, and Tommy-Georgie (Donald)Lemmings; as well as many loving nieces and nephews who cherished him deeply.

Gerald now joins his beloved wife Patricia Ann Carlton; parents Jesse Able Carlton and Mary Lee Fulcher Carlton; brothers John Paul Carlton and Billy Joe Carlton; sisters Vicky Carlton Luckey and Maggie June Carlton Benard; and grandson Zachary David Aguilar in eternal rest. Gerald Glenn Carlton leaves behind not only a family who loved him dearly but also a community enriched by his humor, wisdom, kindness, and unforgettable presence. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
