Toalua Charles "Charlie" Aumua, age 34, of Temple passed away on Friday, August 1, 2025 in Belton. He was born in America Somoa on the 23rd day of April 1991 to parents Koneferenisi and Fa'ailoilo (Tuiasosopo) Aumua.

As a child Charlie moved with his family to Copperas Cove where he would attend school and graduate from. After high school he would go on to earn his bachelor's degree in criminal justice from Tarleton State University.

Charlie was recruited by the Bellmead Police Department in January of 2019 where he would attend McLennan Community College's police academy. He would work at Bellmead Police Department for a little over a year before joining the Temple Police Department in August of 2020. Serving his community as a police officer had been a lifelong goal of Charlie since a very young age. During his career with TPD he worked day shift patrol, served as a field trainer, and was an active member of the Temple SWAT team. Charlie had also received numerous awards and commendations, including Recruit Officer of the Year in 2021 and Temple Police Officer of the Year in 2023. He also earned two life-saving awards in 2023.

Charlie was a giver and a caretaker not only at work but in his personal life. He married Kelsie McAdams in Salado on September 12, 2020. Together they would have two children, Brizben and Huxston. He was a member of the River City Church in Waco. Charlie's dedication to community, his love for his family and his faith in God will be his lasting legacy for generations to come.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents Palauni and Tupu Tuiasosopo.

Charlie leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved wife Kelsie Aumua of Temple, daughter Brizben and son Huxston also of Temple, parents Koneferenisi Aumua Sr and Fa'ailoilo Tuiasosopo both of America Samoa, brother Koneferenisi Aumua Jr. and wife Misty of Temple, brother Phil Brownie Aumua of Copperas Cove and sister Cecelia Castleberry and husband Lukas of Florida. He also leaves behind his nieces and nephews, Paisley and Zealand Aumua, as well as Benjamin and Elizabeth Castleberry, and Zarhen McAdams. He also leaves behind many extended family, friends, and his beloved work family.

A memorial service will be held at Vista Community Church on Friday, August 8, 2025 at 10 o'clock a.m. with Pastor Chris Nelson and Pastor Dwayne Sims officiating.
