Todd B. Carpenter age 53, of Belle Valley Ohio, passed away Saturday, June 22nd, 2024 at his home. He was born on August 27th, 1970 in Barnesville Ohio, a son of the late Woodrow Wilson Carpenter and Patsy Lou Lucas Carpenter.
Todd was a 1989 graduate of Shenandoah High School. He held many titles in his life, from operating heavy equipment to truck driving, but his favorite role was being a father. He loved nothing more than spending time with his wife, children, and family. He was always there for them and loved spending time with them, whether it was playing cards, buggy rides, or having a fire.
He was passionate about his work over the years in transmission and distribution pipeline, superintending, operating and hauling heavy equipment, machinery, traveling and much more. As many would say, Todd was the hardest working man and truly the jack of all trades.
Todd was an avid outdoorsman and a collector of guns, knives and hats. He especially enjoyed woodworking, mowing grass and music. He was also a fan of square body Chevrolet trucks. Todd loved traveling, hunting, sports and socializing. He was a member of the Belle Valley American Legion Post #641.
Todd worked throughout his illness, despite the battle, he never lost his sense of humor. Throughout his entire journey, he cracked jokes, made silly faces and always had a way of being the light in the room. He is a proud Grandfather and said everything is better when the grandkids are there. He effortlessly became the heart of any gathering and is universally adored by all who he crossed paths with. He had a great ability to make others smile and his sense of humor, kindness and loyalty will be missed.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother Danny "Bud" Carpenter who died January 29th, 2008; brother in-law Ernest "Ernie" Carpenter who died on October 28th, 2021 and sister-in-law Dawn (Mark) Reed.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Yvonne M. Yonker Carpenter of the home, whom he married on October 8th, 2022; four daughters, Kelsey (Ryan) Nalley of Batesville, Karley (Darren) Bettinger of Caldwell, Savannah (Dalton) Ivey of Caldwell, Stephani Carpenter of Barnesville; Two bonus children; Laykin (Austin Schockling) Hamilton and Troy Hamilton. Two grandchildren Myles Nalley and Stella Ivey. One brother Christopher (Sue) Carpenter of Quaker City; two sisters, Cynthia (Ernie) Carpenter of Temperanceville and Melony (Steve) Milhoan of Canton; father-in-law and mother-in-law Darrel and Donna Yonker of Belle Valley. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family will receive friends for visitation Tuesday, June 25th, 2024 from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 26th, 2024 at 11:00 AM in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel, with Kirby Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Hoskinsville Cemetery near Belle Valley. Memorial contributions may be directed in Todd's honor to the Belle Valley American Legion, Belle Valley Volunteer Fire Department, or Caldwell Volunteer Fire Department.
