Obituary published on Legacy.com by Grace Memorial Cremations and Burials - Clinton Township on Mar. 11, 2024.
Todd Logan Duvall, age 61, of St. Clair Shores, passed away unexpectedly on March 2, 2024. Born on December 4, 1962, in the heartland of Colorado, Todd grew up with a spirit as vast and welcoming as the plains he called home. His journey through life was marked by a deep sense of patriotism, a passion for culinary arts, and an unwavering love for his family and friends.
Todd proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy, a period of his life that instilled in him a profound sense of duty and honor. Following his military service, he channeled his discipline and creativity into his work as a chef, delighting patrons at several different restaurants over two decades. His culinary skills were not only his profession but also a way to express his love and care for those around him.
A man of faith, Todd was a dedicated member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in St. Clair Shores, where he found solace and community. His belief was a quiet strength that guided him through life's challenges and joys.
Todd's enthusiasm for life was infectious. He was a true rock and roll aficionado, with a music collection that was the envy of his friends. His loyalty to the Nebraska Cornhuskers was as steadfast as his love for riding motorcycles, a pastime that brought him immense freedom and joy. Todd was also a history buff who could spend hours discussing historical events and their impact on the present day. His ability to whip up a delicious meal was matched only by his knack for storytelling, often regaling his loved ones with tales from his varied experiences.
He leaves behind a loving family: his children, Ava Duvall and Logan Duvall; his stepsons, Brandon Ginzel of Missouri and Derek Ginzel of California; his mother, Peggy Duvall of Texas; and his sister, Monique (Tom) Huber of Kansas. Todd also shared a special bond with Cheryl Barbour, the mother of his children. His passing will be deeply felt by his nieces, nephews, and a wide circle of friends who were touched by his generosity and vibrant spirit.
Todd Logan Duvall lived a life characterized by service, love, and an unquenchable zest for life's simple pleasures. His legacy is one of warmth, laughter, and an indomitable spirit that will continue to inspire all who knew him. As we bid farewell to Todd, we celebrate a life well-lived, a journey well-traveled, and a man well-loved. He will be profoundly missed, but the memories he created will forever be cherished in the hearts of those he left behind.
