Carter Funeral Home Ellerbe ChapelIt is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Todd Matthew Horne, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, who left us on September 24, 2025, at Richmond County Hospice Haven. He was born on April 13, 1961, in Omaha, Nebraska, and lived a life dedicated to his family and service to his country.
Todd bravely served in the United States Army for twenty-two years, retiring as Sergeant. His commitment to his duties, exemplified by his strong work ethic and unwavering integrity, was matched only by the love he had for his family. Todd often remarked that his greatest accomplishment was the family he built and nurtured. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Robin Horne, with whom he shared countless cherished moments and memories. Their bond was a testament to enduring love and partnership.
As a proud father, Todd's efforts to engage with his children - John Quick (Michelle) and Casey Owens (Christine) - illustrated his nurturing spirit and commitment to familial ties. He reveled in the joy of being a grandfather, adoring his grandchildren: Audrina Quick, Harrison Quick, and Brock Bettencourt. Along with numerous loved nieces and nephews. Each one held a special place in his heart, and he delighted in watching them grow and thrive.
Todd will also be remembered fondly by his siblings: Nan Gabriel, Bobby Horne Jr., Anjie Kinna, John Horne, Becky Chinadle, and Virginia Bierig. They shared many treasured experiences and he held them close throughout his life.
He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Bobby Gene Horne, Sr. and Patsy Robbins Horne, who instilled in him the values of love, respect, and hard work that he carried throughout his life.
A memorial service honoring Todd's remarkable life will be held on October 11, 2025, at the home in Ellerbe, North Carolina. Military Honors will follow the service. Friends and family are invited to gather at 1:00 PM to celebrate and remember a man who was, without a doubt, a pillar of strength and compassion.
In lieu of flowers, the family requested that donations be made to the ALS Association. The ALS Association, Donation Processing Center, PO Box 37022, Boone, IA 50037.
Todd Matthew Horne's legacy will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. His unwavering dedication to family, service, and love will never be forgotten.
