Todd M. Johnson, age 51, of Marshalltown, Iowa passed away on Friday, November 28, 2025, at the UnityPoint Health - Marshalltown surrounded by his loving family.
Per Todd and his family’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Sunday, December 7, 2025, from 3:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home of Marshalltown. This will be followed by a memorial service from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the same location. Pastor Gregg Davison will be officiating. Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation. Todd Michael Johnson was born on December 28, 1973, in Mankato, Minnesota. He was the son of Arba and Margaret (Brekke) Johnson. Todd attended Marshalltown High School and graduated with the class of 1992. He continued his educational journey, graduating from the University of Phoenix. On July 1, 1995, he married the love of his life Crystal Hodgdon at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Marshalltown. From this beautiful union, their two kids, Hailey and Noah were born. Todd had the opportunity to work as a health information manager for a company in Reno, Nevada and later was able to work remotely from the comfort of his home in Marshalltown.
In his free time, Todd enjoyed golfing, gardening and cooking. He also liked to collect coins and comics and was a big fan of the T.V. show M.A.S.H. Todd had a special ear for the great music of his era, especially his favorite band, KISS. He was also a well-known animal lover that wouldn’t think twice about bringing animals into his care. Todd could also tell a great story or two.
Todd will always be remembered as an amazing, caring, attentive, protective, intelligent, hilarious and loving man. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 30 years, Crystal Johnson; his children: Hailey Johnson of Omaha, NE. and Noah Johnson of Marshalltown, IA; his parents: Arba and Margaret Johnson; his siblings: Paul (Elaine) and Chris (Shannon) Johnson; six nieces and nephews: Connor (Sharissa), Brent, Erica, Cory (McKaylea), Kyle and Carly; and three great-nieces and nephews: Harper, Everlee and Cove; Cindi Readout: mother-in-law, Cameron Hodgdon: brother-in-law and Robin Hodgdon: sister-in-law.
He is preceded in death by his father-in-law Curt Hodgdon.
