Todd Meleski, 59, of Kingsford, Michigan, passed away on December 17 with his sisters by his side. He was born in Stambaugh, Michigan, to Donald and Naomi (Winton) Meleski of Iron River. Todd attended West Iron County Schools, where he played football, and graduated in 1984. He proudly served four years in the United States Navy aboard the USS Guam (LPH-9). After his military service, Todd worked as a pipefitter before joining Specialty Granules in Pembine, Wisconsin.
Todd was known for his compassionate heart, quick wit and wonderful sense humor. He had a gift for making people laugh and brought joy wherever he went and was a pleasure to be around. He especially loved hunting, riding motorcycles and spending time at camp. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In 2002, Todd married the love of his life, Sue Buckland, who preceded him in death in 2017.
Todd is survived by his brothers, Mark Meleski of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, and Gary Johnson (Mary Ann Mattioli) of Florida; his sisters, Gail (Jerry) Weeks of Iron River and Lisa Meleski of Traverse City, Michigan; his stepdaughters, Shelby and Megan; special nephews Jason Czapiga and Kole Hollister; loving nieces Jennifer Nowak, Stephanie Olson, and Alycia Johnson; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, with details to be announced. Interment will take place at Bates Cemetery outside of Iron River, Michigan.
