Todd Ashley Muir, 52, died unexpectedly at his home on April 2, 2025.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Magun Leach Muir, his daughters Sarah and Chloe Muir, his soon to be son-in-law, Brandon Sadler, his mother Patricia Feathers Muir, for whom he would have hung the moon if asked, and a large extended family and host of friends that mourn his loss. He was preceded in death by his father, Danny and his brother, Je rey. The impact of his life and death is a testimony to his generous spirit and friendly nature. Todd grew up in Tabb and, though second born, he quickly became his older special-needs brother's protector and friend. His compassionate and caring nature was an exceptional skill he perfected throughout his short but impactful life. He began his hands-on mechanical training in his home by the age of 3, showing an amazing interest and genius aptitude for taking things apart and putting back together.
Todd was a curious and active child, and those who knew him know that never really changed. He built his first car, a 1965 VW bug, by the age of 15, and was encouraged by both of his parents to develop these skills. His work was both a profession and a hobby, and his father was by far his best teacher.
Todd graduated from Tabb High School, and soon after met and married his one and only true love and together they built a wonderful life and raised two beautiful daughters. These three girls were his pride and joy. He loved the times they spent together camping, boating, fishing, crabbing, gardening or just being together. His favorite companions over the years were his beloved Great Danes. Todd's formal education included two associate degrees in applied science in mechanical technology and mechanics from TNCC and the Newport News Shipbuilding Apprentice School, but he never stopped learning and discovering new and better ways to do things. Todd loved being busy and he loved people. His driveway was a favorite hang out for laughter and conversation, and a clinic for many cars, machinery and people that needed care. He tirelessly gave help and support to anyone who crossed his path.
Todd knew no strangers, was never at a loss for words, quick to share a smile and a cold drink, and many can attest to the fact that he was a jack of all trades and a master of most anything he tackled. He ended his formal work career at Anheuser Busch after 26 years. Remembered as their youngest maintenance hire, he quickly
proved he was wise beyond his years.
Todd's presence in this world, and in our lives, will be greatly missed, yet we have a great example to follow in how he lived, and we are confident we will see him again. The family wishes to thank their friends, neighbors, and extended new friends for their prayers and expressions of concern during these di cult days.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Bethel Baptist Church, Yorktown, Saturday, April 12th at 2 PM, with visitation from 1 to 2 PM.
