Todd Alan Shaffer, 58, of Ruffin passed away at his home on Wednesday, December 13, 2023.
A celebration of life will be held at 5:00 PM on Friday, January 12, 2024, at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Rev. Shannon Newsome officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Todd was born in Cincinnati, OH to Roger Alan Shaffer and the late Barbara Seef Shaffer. From a young age Todd was a mechanical genius. His passion for tinkering led him to building all kinds of things from Pringle can tennis ball cannons to rebuilding classic cars. Todd could fix anything. He was known as a jokester, and those he loved can remember his many moons. Hours would be spent on his porch just chatting and occasionally you’d hear a rebel yell. Todd had a heart of gold and would literally give you the shirt off his back. Always willing to lend a helping hand and always available to fix things, he would always find a way. He was fiercely independent, incredibly loyal and hard working. He established his own tree service where he became known as Treefrog, a nickname from his buddies who marveled at the way he could climb a tree. He was happiest outside, doing anything and everything to keep his hands busy. He enjoyed classic rock music, company and long conversations. He always cherished his family and its history. He took great pride in his role, whatever role it was.
Along with his mother, he is preceded in death by the mother of 4 of his children, Tina Shaffer and eldest daughter, Victoria Anne Shaffer Cox.
He is survived by his father, Roger Alan Shaffer (Phyllis Shaffer); Children, Chelsea Shaffer (Tyler Cox), Alan Shaffer (Emilee Shaffer), Bethany Shaffer(Zackary Aiken) and Roger Paul Shaffer (Alice Garcia); Grandchildren, Maddie, Charlotte, Miles, Gavin and Houston; sisters, Pam Duemig (Scott Duemig) and Susan Rahn (Billy Rahn) as well as a large and loving group of extended family and cherished friends.
