Allen "Todd" Small, age 57, passed away on Tuesday April 11, 2023. He had 3 boys who were the light of his life. His greatest achievement and joy was raising Max, Conrad, and Sam. He was a coach of their soccer teams and was always at school events. After being a Dad, his greatest love was caring for animals-dogs, cats, exotic birds, snakes and reptiles were part of his menagerie. He was part owner of an exotic bird shop at one time and dreamed of starting an animal rescue. He passed his love of animals to his sons.
Todd was born in Arlington, Texas to Lynn Duke, his loving mother. He met Vernon LaCour in Arlington who would become his lifelong best friend. Todd attended the University of North Texas and studied Philosophy. He loved knowledge and debate, thinking through complex problems and issues. He enjoyed experiencing new foods and cooking experimental dishes. Todd and his boys spent many hours watching movie marathons together, especially epics like The Lord of the Rings and the Matrix.
Todd's loss will leave a great gap in the lives of everyone around him. Our love goes with him as he leaves this earthly plain.
Graveside services will be at 11:00am Saturday, April 15, 2023 at the Wolfforth Cemetery, 900 W. 5th St. in Wolfforth. Services are under the care of Wilsons' Funeral Directors of Wolfforth.
The family suggest in lieu of flowers, donations in Todd's name be giving to the Haven Animal Care Shelter, 4501 N FM 1729, Lubbock, Texas 79403 or to the American Diabetes Association, https://diabetes.org/ways-to-give/by-mail.
