Tokenya Genell Douglas was born on November 21, 1973, at Park City Hospital in Bridgeport, Connecticut to Jerry and Debra (Dukes) Douglas.
Tokenya, aka Kenya or Keenie was the oldest of three children. She was educated in the Bridgeport school system and graduated from Bullard Havens Technical School. She obtained her associates degree from Housatonic Community College.
Tokenya retired as a Librarian Assistant for the Bridgeport Public Library after working there for nearly 20 years. Tokenya was a loyal servant of Jehovah as one of Jehovah's Witnesses.
She was a devoted mother of three, (son)Ian Nicholas Wright Jr; (daughter)Naomi Douglas-Shelton and (son)Kameron Douglas-Shelton. She loved her children dearly and would do anything for them.
She leaves to her memory her mother, Debra Douglas (Bridgeport), one sister Ahisha Douglas, Naugatuck CT and one brother Jareem Douglas (Ansonia CT); her grandmother Ivory G Carr, aunts; uncles; and a host of nieces; nephews; cousins, and friends.
Tokenya was predeceased by her father Jerry E. Douglas and grandparents Wiley Dukes Sr.; Ethline and N-Roy Henry Douglas
