Tom Anderson Obituary
Dr. Tom Anderson, 83, passed away on February 22, 2026. Born September 4, 1942, in Ekalaka, Montana, Tom was the son of Walter and Morine Anderson. Alongside his siblings, Walter and Kay, he was raised with the western values that defined his life.
"Dr. Tom" attended the University of Montana before earning his medical degree at Stanford University. A renowned oncologist for over 40 years, he leaves a legacy of excellence, integrity, and leadership that began at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee and culminated in Cody, where he fulfilled a mission to bring advanced cancer care to the region.
While building his career, he and his wife, Rita, raised two sons, Matthew and Gregory. Tom was later blessed with daughters-in-law, Denise and Erin, and four cherished granddaughters-Maya, Marin, Olivia, and Morgan-whom he absolutely adored.
After years in Milwaukee, Tom and Rita returned to their western roots, settling in Cody, Wyoming. There, he finished his medical career, built a community of friends, and fly-fished as much as possible.
The lives he touched, improved, and enriched are too many to count, the good he did in this world cannot be measured. His passing has left a hole in the world for those who knew and loved him. If you knew him, you knew him, and feel it with us.
