Tom Azbell, 91, of Lancaster, OH, passed away at his home surrounded by loved ones on September 11, 2025. He was born to the late Clarence and Mary (Kilbarger) Azbell on Monday, August 13, 1934.
Tom was a member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, the Moose Lodge 955, and retired from Anchor Hocking. He was a Korean veteran of the United States Army. Tom enjoyed fishing and playing cards. He was a busy man and always on the go. Tom was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather.
Tom is survived by his children, Tom (Sue) Poling, Frederick (Carol) Poling, and Rebecca Anderson; 12 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and 21 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Laura (Welch) Azbell; parents, Clarence and Mary Azbell; daughter, Ginger Mathias, as well as 7 brothers and 6 sisters.
A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at 10:30 AM at the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Kevin Chambers officiating. Friends and family are welcome to visit on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, from 2:00-4:00 PM and 6:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service on Wednesday with military honors performed by the Lancaster Burial Detail at Floral Hills Memory Gardens.
