It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Tom David Cumpian Jr., a beloved husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, and friend. Tom passed away on May 23, 2025 at the age of 57. He was born on February 26, 1968 in Houston, Texas to Tom D. Cumpian Sr. and Lydia Cumpian. Those closest to him knew him as Jr., Gogo, and G-pa though he went by many nicknames. Tom was a proud graduate of Milby High School. In 1989 he met his sweetheart and the love of his life, Rose Cumpian, at the mall wearing his turquoise muscle shirt and matching short shorts. Together they had three children, Tom D. Cumpian III (Big Boy), Christian A. Cumpian (Baby Boy), and his princess Alyssa N. Cumpian. He was a devoted father and husband, and he always made sure to make his family his number one priority. He excelled in his career with Comcast for the last 27 years. His commitment and hard work left a lasting impact on those that he encountered professionally. His work family knew they could count on him to provide knowledge and help, in any way possible. The bonds he created with his fellow technicians were obvious through the constant dinging of his phone off the clock as they shared countless memes, sarcasm, and jokes when they weren't shooting the shot at a new lunch spot! In his spare time, Tom enjoyed fishing, listening and talking about music, guitars, attending metal concerts, smoking cigars, and simply being surrounded by family. He loved spending time on the back deck barbecuing with either metal or Little Joe playing in the background with a glass of Johnnie Walker Black or an ice cold Dos Equis in hand. At times simply sitting at the dinner table talking about his grandkids, sharing his home remedy of pickle juice- it cured everything! He looked forward to sharing his personal review and recommendations of restaurants or a new find during his many unsupervised trips to HEB, Buc-ee's, and let's not forget, Guitar Center (not sponsored). Tom's attention to detail always drove him to be a perfectionist no matter how mad it made him. You knew he was close to completing a project by the amount of swearing he did. Although it may have looked like disorganized chaos, he always had the right tool and knew exactly where it was. Amongst his many talents, he was a wonderful handy man AKA " Fix it Felix", a great mentor and life coach to his kids and grandkids. Whether it was talking about life lessons or 1-on-1 lessons with the grandkids teaching them to play guitar, drums, chess, or card games. He took pride in it all! He leaves behind his loving wife Rose Cumpian, He is survived by his sons Tom D. Cumpian III and wife Priscilla Cumpian; Christian A. Cumpian and wife Dayana Cumpian; daughter Alyssa N. Cumpian; Parents, Tom D. Cumpian Sr. and Lydia Cumpian, loving mother in law San Juana Vega; sisters Michelle Magallanez and husband David Magallanez; Diane Gonzalez and husband Gabriel Gonzalez, as well as Grandchildren Isaac D. Cumpian, Natalie Cumpian, Eddy Cumpian, Adrian Cumpian, and Anthony Cumpian. Numerous nephews and nieces, host of family and friends. Tom will forever be remembered for his unwavering love for his family and friends. His legacy lives on through the countless lives he touched. May he rest in peace knowing he was loved deeply by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
