In Loving Memory of Tom Henry Esparza Known as "Henry" to most
Tom Henry Esparza, affectionately known as Henry, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2025, in Wichita Falls, Texas, at the age of 74. Born on February 26, 1951, in Knox City, Texas, Henry was raised in Olney, where he spent most of his life surrounded by family, friends, and a community he dearly loved.
Henry was the life of the party-full of laughter, charm, and rhythm. He never met a stranger, and once you met him, you never forgot him. Known for gliding across the dance floor with effortless style, many would say he was the best dancer around. And he made sure his daughters could hold their own on the dance floor too-he wasn't about to be embarrassed by a bad dancer in the family.
His love for music ran deep. He worked gigs alongside Gary Stewart, soaking in the honky-tonk life many, many times. He found joy in the simple things-casting a line while fishing, firing up the grill to cook his famous tacos and ribs, or sharing laughs over cold drinks with friends and family.
Henry lived with passion, humor, and heart. Whether he was dancing, cooking, fishing, or just sitting on the porch swapping stories, he brought light and warmth to everyone around him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sally Esparza; and his daughters: Tori Esparza of Wichita Falls, Cherrie Riggins and husband Brandon of Graham, and Jennifer Utley and husband Terry of Knox City and two grandchildren, John Cross and Grayson of Knox City. He is also survived by five siblings and numerous nieces and nephews who adored him and will carry his memory forward.
Henry was preceded in death by his infant son, Tom Henry Esparza Jr., his mother, Sotera Esparza, his father, Vito Esparza and sister, Rita guerra
One thing is for sure-when Henry arrived in Heaven, there was a celebration waiting for him. He was joyfully reunited with his best friend for life, Bill Sunday, and many others, and the music and laughter surely haven't stopped since.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 26th, from 3–5 PM at Hudson's on Main in Olney, Texas. The bar will be open to purchase a drink for anyone wanting to raise a cold one in honor of Big Hen. At 5 PM, the restaurant and full menu will be available, as the restaurant opens to the public, anyone wanting to stay and share a meal in his memory is welcome to.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Henry's memory to: Hamilton Hospital P.O. Box 158 Olney, TX 76374
Though Henry may no longer be with us, his music, his stories, and his unforgettable spirit will live on forever-in every dance, every memory, and every heart he touched.

So sad to see this. Henry and I go back a long way. Back during his Olney days. We drank a few beers and played a few games of pool at the American Legion. After I moved to Electra I did get to see Henry anymore. One thing though there is only one Henry Esparza. See you soon Henry!
