Charles Thomas Hatton, age 85 of Keller, TX took his peaceful heavenly journey on September 12, 2024. Tom was born in Columbus, Ohio, graduated from Linden McKinley High School and The Ohio State University and was an Army veteran. He retired after 35 years as a high school counselor in the Columbus Public Schools.

Tom married Carolyn Durfey Hatton in 1962. They made their home in Worthington, Ohio until 2000 at which time they moved to Keller, TX to be close to family.

Tom was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ and a longtime member of Karl Road Baptist Church in Columbus, Ohio and then First Baptist Church of Saginaw, TX.

He was a kind and loving husband, father and “Papa” whose first priority was always his family. Nothing brought him more joy than being with his grandchildren. He enjoyed music, art, travel, parties, grandchildren’s activities, March Madness and The Ohio State University football. Since 2016, Tom has struggled valiantly with Parkinson’s Disease.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents Wayland and Catherine Hatton, brothers Jerry Hatton and Terry Hatton and infant granddaughter Rosie Hatton Beebe.

He is survived by his beloved family: wife of 62 years, Carolyn Durfey Hatton; son and daughter-in-law Joshua Hatton and Katy Beebe and grandchildren Jose Thomas and Helene; daughter and son-in-law Elizabeth and Brett Allison and grandchildren Nathan, Eden, Asher, Isaac and Jock the grand dog; brothers Robert (Marlene) Hatton and Carl (Margaret) Hatton; special lifelong friends and relatives in Columbus, OH.

Our family wishes to thank the Koinonia Class and thoughtful neighbors for their many acts of kindness, encouragement and support. Also, thank you to Laura from Home Instead and Texan Plus Hospice Service for their care and support.
