Tom Patton Obituary
Born on December 6, 1953, in Columbus, Kansas, to Roy and Ila Maire (Tyree) Patton, Tom lived a life marked by service, adventure, and deep personal connections. He proudly served his country for 21 years in the United States Air Force, achieving the rank of Master Sergeant. His military career took him across the globe with assignments in Las Vegas, Alaska, Korea, and Saudi Arabia. After retiring from the Air Force, Tom continued his commitment to public service as a Correction Officer with the Kansas Department of Corrections.
On July 4, 2017, Tom married Tammy Marker in Padre Island. Their union was a joyful chapter in both their lives-one filled with gratitude and shared adventures. Together they traveled across 39 states in their RV, embracing the open road and making memories at every turn.
Tom had a zest for life that was infectious. He loved fishing and hunting for rare rocks and was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan. Known for his happy and ornery spirit, Tom never met a stranger. His warm personality left an impression wherever he went-whether on the road or during his time in the hospital. The nurses who cared for him often remarked on his great sense of humor and magnetic charm.
Tom is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ronnie Patton.
Left to cherish his memory, wife, Tammy Marker, daughter, Kassandra Giefer of Grove, OK and stepson, Kurtis Wydick of Portland, TX; siblings: Bonnie Burleson of Grove, Henry Patton (Dee) and Sander Patton (Mark Bach) of Buhl, ID, Stephany Votroubek of Ontario, OR, and many loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation from 5-7pm Friday, December 26, 2025, at Nichols-Stephens Funeral and Cremation Services.

Worked with Tom and Tammy. Sad he is gone but happy to hear the 2 of you had so many happy years together. My condolences Tammy. Tom was a rare find and a good one!

I worked with Tom at the El Dorado Correctional Facility starting in '05 and worked with him for several years. Tom was a great person to work with. RIP Tom.
