He was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Cornelia Auxier Perez.
Tomas is survived by his daughter, Bretton Perez Jenks (Bryant), and son, William Jason Perez (Susie), five grandchildren: Emily Jenks, Ashley Sprague (Cody), Lauren Rene Jenks, Will Perez and Chris Perez, and brother Charles Perez (Gladys) and many nieces and nephews.
At his request, there will be no visitation or memorial service. A private family graveside service will take place.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Gifford Youth Achievement Center in Vero Beach or to the charity of your choice.

I consider myself to be very fortunate to have known Rene, who I met through my parents, Lynn and Mike Molloy. Rene was the epitome of a gentleman, always gracious and a truly kind person. I know he's with Cornelia now surrounded by dogs, cats, etc. Rest in peace dear Rene.

Growing up, Rene was Mr. Perez to me. I remember him as a wonderful, caring and graceful man. Always calm and collected and well respected. God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow. May you rest in peace.
