Breaux Bridge- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM, Monday, September 8, 2025 at St. Bernard Catholic Church honoring the life of Tommie T. Hebert, 66, who passed away on September 5, 2025 at Calcutta House in Lafayette.
A visitation will take place at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge on Sunday from 1:30 PM to 8:00 PM and will continue on Monday from 8:00 AM to 10:30 AM.
A rosary will be prayed at 6:00 PM on Sunday.
Rev. Donovan Labbe will officiate at the funeral mass. Readers will be Monica Guilbeau and Shannon Rogers. Gift bearers will be his grandchildren.
Burial will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2.
Tommie was born on December 30, 1958. He was the epitome of a family man. He was known for his friendly demeanor, never having met a stranger, and had a unique ability to make friends wherever he went. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working in garden. Tommie was a great cook and loved sharing meals with his family and friends. He and his friends would gather on Thursdays for their "Top of the Hill" Lunch Group. One of his favorite past times was completing the daily crossword puzzles published in the newspaper.
Tommie was also the go-to guy for fixing things, always enjoyed in tinkering with various projects. His willingness to lend a hand and his genuine interest in connecting with others made him a cherished presence in the lives of many. Tommie dedicated his life to his family, and his love for them knew no bounds. He took tremendous joy in being a grandfather and cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren, making it a point to attend every event, rain or shine. He will truly be missed by all.
He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Melissa Noel Hebert; daughters, Britney H. Thibodeaux (Jonas) and Courtney H. Broussard (Matt); grandchildren, Joshua Hebert, Eleanor Thibodeaux, John-Hayes Broussard, Beau-Michael Broussard, Ruby Broussard, and Ryker Broussard; brothers, Rocky Hebert (Jill), Ricky Hebert (Kathleen), Chris Hebert, and Jimmy Hebert; sisters, Karen H. Dugas (Dana), Pamela Hebert, Mona H. Noel (Randy), and Nancy Hebert; mother-in-law, Melba Noel; Godmother, Earline Viator; aunt, Grace Guidry; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Velma "Jane" Hebert; and his father-in-law, Alton Noel.
Pallbearers will be Rocky Hebert, Ricky Hebert, Chris Hebert, Jimmy Hebert, Joshua Hebert and Patrick Roesch.
Honorary pallbearers will be the BBHS Class of '77, Mike Broussard, Mickey Broussard, Matt Broussard, Jonas Thibodeaux, Christopher Guillory, Cory Trahan, David Guillory, Randy Noel, Kevin Noel, Randy J. Noel, Dana Dugas and Travis Guidry.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Steven Saccaro, Dr. Michael Alexander, Ochsner Lafayette General (6th and 8th floor), oncology nurses and aids, and Calcutta House (Hospice of Acadiana) for the excellent care given to Tommie. Many thanks to friends, family, and neighborhood family that continued to pray and check on Tommie and our family, your kindness will never be forgotten.
