Tommy Arthur

Funeral services for Tommy Arthur, 80, of Sanderson, are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 9, 2025, at Hannigan Smith Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Red Hill Cemetery near Murchison under the direction of Hannigan Smith Funeral Home.
Mr. Arthur passed from this life on May 2, 2025, in Odessa.
Tommy was born August 7,1944 in Athens, Tx to Truman and Bonnie Hood Arthur. When he graduated high school, he attended Henderson County Junior College and later Sam Houston State University. Tommy then moved to Sanderson, Tx where he lived most of his life. He worked and retired from Southern Pacific and Union Pacific Railroad after 47 years of service. However, no matter how long he was gone, Athens was always his home. Family was everything to him and whether it was a phone call or a periodic house visit, he always made sure his friends and family knew he cared. He will be missed dearly by everyone he loved and who loved him.
Survivors include his sister, Pam Arthur Summerall; his wife, Maje Arthur of Sanderson; his daughter, Elizabeth Franke; his stepchildren, Jon Tom Lowrance (Tanna) and Lyndee Lowrance (Grant Scheuring); his grandchildren, Whitney Steadham, Landry Lowrance, Laycee Lowrance, Layla Lowrance, Adran Pulsifer, and Brianna Garza (Zakary); and a host of family and friends; and soon to be great-grandson, Henry Maddox Garza.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Stephanie Arthur Bramlett; four brothers, Bobby Dan Arthur, Troy Arthur, Mike Arthur, and Ricky Arthur; and sister, Joan Arthur; and nephews, Ryan Arthur and Luke Scott.
Serving as pallbearers will be Adren Pulsifer, Zakary Garza, Drew Horn, Brett Horn, Brian Summerall, Clint Arthur, Clay Arthur, and Bodee Arthur.
A visitation will be held on Friday, May 9, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Hannigan Smith Funeral Home prior to the service.
