Thomas William “Tommy” Beaver, age 78, of Lincolnton, passed away Sunday, April 6, 2025, at his residence. He was born July 24, 1946, in Rutherford County to the late Noah Lee and Altie Campbell Beaver.
Tommy was a veteran of the United States Army. He was also a member of New Camp Creek Baptist Church. Tommy retired from FMC where he worked for more than 15 years in maintenance. He was a certified welder and enjoyed playing his guitar and singing with his family. Tommy loved fishing, hunting, and golfing. He also liked Western shows and movies, especially any starring John Wayne or Randolph Scott.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Marshall Beaver, Lyman Beaver, Margie Mayes, and Elizabeth Bailey.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Lorene McNeely Beaver, of Lincolnton; children, Tammy Dellinger (Mitch), of Lincolnton, and Pam Beaver, of Lincolnton; grandchildren, Thomas Braswell (Abby), of Ellenboro, and Carley Postell, of Shelby; great-grandchildren; Braelyn Truett, of Shelby, Alaya Truett, of Shelby, and Axl Truett, of Shelby; siblings, Larry Beaver, of Gaffney, Eugene “Doc” Beaver, of Cliffside, and Ruth Williams, of Kings Mountain; numerous nieces and nephews; and his chihuahua, Cocoa.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, April 12, 2025, at 12:00 PM at Carpenter-Porter Funeral Home with Pastor Barry Brookshire and Rev. John Bridges officiating. Burial will follow at New Camp Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
