Thomas "Tommy" Blevins, age 60, was born on June 8, 1965, in Richmond, VA, to the late Clara Parks Blevins and Manuel Blevins, departed this life on February 13, 2026, at the Bristol Hospice House. He was a cherished father, grandfather, brother, and friend who left an indelible mark on those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Known for his quiet demeanor, vast wisdom and humbleness, Tommy enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, often finding joy in the companionship of his beloved dog, Lady Bug. His love for the outdoors manifested in his passions for riding horses, fishing, and hunting, activities that brought him serenity and fulfillment. Tommy was a man who drew comfort from nature and the bonds he forged with both animals and people.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by, Virginia Carol Wyatt; his grandson, Thomas Joseph Blevins; his brothers, Eddie Blevins and Tim Blevins.
He is survived by his sons, Robert Blevins (Elizabeth Dixon), Tracy Wyatt; daughter Hope Baumgardner; and granddaughters, Carolyn Blevins and Clara Blevins; and Juan Recendiz, who he helped raise. Thomas also leaves behind a legacy of love through his brother, Billy Blevins (Sharon), and sisters, Joan Wilkerson, Freida Watson, Judy Blevins Alice Blevins, his special friend, Pamela Baumgardner, along with family members, and several nieces and nephews. His special cousin and friend, Ryan Farmer, and close companions, Dean "Hippy" Whitt, Clay Baker and Donnie Allison.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, at Farris Funeral Service, Main Street Chapel, 427 E. Main Street, Abingdon, VA. The funeral will be at 1:00 pm with Pastor Junior Gobble and Bro. Mark Baumgardner officiating The burial will take place at Forest Hills Memory Gardens, Abingdon, VA. Pallbearers will be Ryan Farmer, Robert Blevins, Tracy Wyatt, Derek Widener, Clay Baker, Hank Sinclair, and Eddie Blevins. Honorary pallbearers are Dean "Hippy" Whitt, Juan Recendiz, Chris Hayes and Nick Lewis.
The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at the Hospice House for the wonderful care and support they provided to Tommy.
Tommy Blevins will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all whose lives he touched.
