Mr. Tommy Jack Duncan, age 70 of Royston GA, passed away on January 12, 2024 following a sudden illness.
He was born on July 25, 1953 in Royston, GA to the late Jack and Jean Seawright Duncan. He attended Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Tommy was a graduate of Hart County High School, Emmanuel College and the University of Georgia class of 1976. Tommy started his career with John Duncan Tire as an accountant, later becoming owner of Duncan Tire in Royston and Toccoa, he later started Luxury Ride Vans, Custom Trucks, Coast to Coast Locators, Southeast Vending and was on the board of several banks. He loved traveling to his Montana home and exploring the natural surroundings, and he loved going to his condo in Daytona Beach where he welcomed many families over the years to enjoy. Tommy will be remembered for his unselfish care of others and helping anyone in need. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Left to cherish his memories are; his wife, Brenda McCollum Duncan, children, Phil (Christie) Duncan, Lavonia, Ga., Kayla (Walt) Holland, and Joey (Sherri) Cheek both of Carnesville, Ga., siblings, Veal (Sandra) Duncan, Bobby (Debbie) Duncan, Stevie (Cindy) Duncan, Debra Rousey and Sonja Bennett all of Royston, Ga., grandchildren, Montana (Jacob) Drake, Waylon Cheek, Becca Holland, Addy Holland and Dylan Duncan along with a host of relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Celebration of Life funeral service will be held on Monday, January 15, 2024 at Four o'clock from Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Bowman with Dr. Chris Pritchett, Rev. Reggie Vaughn and Mr. Joey Cheek along with family officiating. The family will greet friends at the church 2-4 p.m. just prior to the funeral service. Entombment will be in the family mausoleum at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
The family will be at the home of Walt and Kayla Holland, 303 Roebuck Road, Carnesville, Ga., and at the home of Phil and Christy Duncan, 373 Grogan Street, Lavonia, Ga.
Services have been entrusted to Coile and Hall Funeral Directors, 333 E. Johnson Street, Hartwell, GA 30643.
