Tommy R. Fields, age 76, of Lewis Center, OH passed away on January 9, 2025 at Kobacker House surrounded by his loving wife and daughters.
Tom was born November 2, 1948 to William & Carol (Borland) Fields in Cincinnati, Ohio. He graduated from Oak Hills High School, and proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps, including two tours in Vietnam.
After his years of military service he entered the Ohio State Highway Patrol in Cincinnati, where he served his community for over a decade. He was widely recognized for his successes as a patrolman. Soon after, Tom utilized his background working at The Limited in logistics for over twenty years.
Tom and Bernadette were married and shared wonderful years together filled with boating, travel, laughter and precious time spent with family and friends.
In retirement, Tom focused on helping others and volunteering at Habitat for Humanity. He loved finding the solutions to problems and could always “fix it”, with his quick wit, perfectly timed jokes, and infectious laughter. His ability to find humor in life’s moments will always be remembered and cherished.
Tom is preceded in death by his parents, and survived by his wife, Bernadette, children; Sarah (Mike) Carlson, Laura (Timothy) Fields, Tommy Fields II, Elena Huxman, 8 grandchildren; Violet, Jax, William, Alyssa, Jade, Ethan, Aiden, Izjah, and siblings; David (Pat) Fields, and Danzi (Bob) Sunderman.
Visitation will be held Friday, January 17, 2025 from 12:00-2:00 PM and 4:00-5:00 PM, with a concluding service at Newcomer Funeral Home, NW Chapel, 10051 Brewster Lane, Powell, OH 43065.
