Tommy W. Harred, 74, of Lebo, passed away Saturday, December 14, 2024 at the Coffey County Hospital in Burlington.

He was born June 6, 1950 in Prairie Grove, Arkansas the son of Billie and Lois Womack Harred. Tommy spent his early childhood in Prairie Grove before moving with his family to Wichita. His family would later settle in Arvonia. Tommy attended Lebo High School and graduated with the Class of 1969. Tommy moved into Lebo after his parents passed away.

He had worked his entire life in Emporia which included time at Didde Glaser and Kansa before taking a position with Vektek, where he retired as a Tool Maker after more than 20 years of service.

Tommy was most comfortable in the outdoors. As a child he learned to love fishing, hunting and anything to do in nature. He cultivated that love his entire life and made lifelong friends along the way. He always had time for a good story or two and enjoyed reminiscing about the good ole days. There was always a project that he was working on and Tommy looked forward to the next one, whatever it may be.

Tommy will live on in the hearts and countless memories of his sister, Glenda Goodwin of El Dorado, Kansas; a brother, Bob Harred of Melvern; numerous extended family and a community of close friends.

Tommy was not one for fan fair. This giant of a man left a simple request. He wanted to be cremated and that those nearest him remember him in a way of their choosing. His family will be announcing a time and place to gather for a celebration of his life sometime in the near future.
