FAYETTEVILLE, GEORGIA- Thomas Louis "Tommy" Hatcher, 82, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 18, 2025. A Graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Christ's Sanctified Holy Church Campground Cemetery in Perry, Georgia, where friends and family will gather to honor his life and legacy. Tommy's life was marked by his dedication to his family and his craft, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to Christ's Sanctified Holy Church Burial Fund. Tommy was born on May 1, 1943, in Norfolk, Virginia, to the late David and Lucille Hatcher. Tommy was a respected figure in the construction industry, where he began his career at the tender age of 12, working alongside his father and brother during the summers. Over the years, he established himself as a skilled framer, builder, and brick mason, ultimately becoming a self-employed contractor admired by many as a mentor. Known for his sweet and generous nature, Tommy was a beloved brother and a pillar in his community, always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need. Tommy was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, David Ray Hatcher; and brother-in-law, Clarence Westmoreland. Left to cherish the memories they made with Tommy are his loving wife of fifty years, Gaile Hatcher; son, Jerry Trawick of Phoenix, AZ; daughter, Miranda Baumgartner of Barnesville, GA; four grandchildren, Nathan Trawick, Garrett Trawick, Karissa Baumgartner, and Everett Guild; his sister, Betty Jo Westmoreland of Fayetteville, GA; sister-in-law, Fay Hatcher of Albany, GA; brother-in-law, Claude Smith of Fayetteville, GA; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com. Watson-Hunt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
