Tommy Ray Roach, a beloved husband, father, and community servant, passed away peacefully at his residence in Temple, Texas, on May 30, 2025, at the age of 67. Born on December 19, 1957, in Waco, Texas, Tommy's journey through life was marked by an unwavering commitment to helping others and a profound love for his family.

With a servant's heart, Tommy embarked on a career dedicated to the well-being of his community. He began his professional journey as a fireman and EMT, later lending his compassionate hand at a local funeral home. His passion for service led him to become an esteemed police officer at the Smithville Police Department, where he honed his skills before transferring to the Rockdale Police Department. Tommy's leadership shone bright as he ascended to the rank of sergeant lieutenant and ultimately served as Interim Chief of Police for over 15 years. While serving Rockdale Police Department he was shot in the line of duty and received Purple Heart for his bravery. His tenure in Rockdale was not only defined by his law enforcement career but also by his entrepreneurial spirit, as he opened Playland Skating Ring with his Brother in Law, a local staple for joy and laughter. Concluding his distinguished career, Tommy served as Chief of the Valley Mills Police Department for over a decade, leaving an indelible mark on every life he touched.

Tommy's heart was filled with love, not just for his work but for his family, who remained his proudest accomplishment. He cherished his wife, Lois Roach, with whom he shared over 38 wonderful years. Their bond was a testament to enduring love, and together they created a family that thrives in warmth and support. Tommy leaves behind his children, Darryl Wayne Roach, Sheila Roach Russell and her husband, Heath, Brandon Roach and his wife, Renee, David Gresham and his wife, Amber, and Joey Gresham and his wife, Amber; his Sister Rhonda Cunningham and husband Mike, and Step brother Vernon Davis,  and Step sister Nancy McCraw, twelve adoring grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren, and his  best friend and beloved dog, Bleu. Together, they carry forth his legacy of kindness and service, surrounded by numerous nieces, & nephews, cherished family members and friends who experienced his love firsthand.

Tommy had a passion for outdoor adventures, wood working craft shows, spending quality time camping with Lois at Belton and Stillhouse where they also worked as gate attendants. These moments of tranquility in nature were a perfect backdrop to the joy he found in spending time with family. His vibrant personality and commitment to serving others will forever remain etched in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his loving family while being preceded in death by his parents, O.C. and Loraine Davis; his father, Clarence Roach, his infant brother Alvin; his sister, Lora; and his step-brother, Charles Davis. As we gather to celebrate Tommy's remarkable life, we find solace in the memories shared and the profound impact he has made in our lives.

Visitation will be held on June 7, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 3:00 PM, both at Crotty Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Belton, Texas.

Tommy Ray Roach will always be remembered not just as a public servant but as a beacon of love, strength, and dedication to family and community. His legacy will continue to inspire those who knew him.
