Tommy Elmer Smith

Tommy Elmer Smith, born December 8, 1932, in Morristown, TN, passed away on August 18, 2025, in Taylor, MI, at the age of 92.
Tommy dedicated over 32 years of his life working at General Motors, where he eventually retired. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army, serving his country for four years. His love for the outdoors was evident through his passion for hunting, a pastime he enjoyed throughout his life.
Family was the cornerstone of Tommy's life. He is survived by his devoted wife of 63 years, Joyce, and his son Steven. His legacy continues through his beloved grandchildren, Tara, Amber, Madison, and Chelsea, as well as his precious great-grandchildren, Nora and Abigail.
He is also survived by his nephews Johnny, Mark, Wendell, David, Chuck, Anthony, Barry, and his niece Debbie. Tommy also leaves behind his brother James, who was both a sibling and a dear friend.
He was preceded in death by his son Phillip, his grandson Tony, his parents John and Hazel, his in-laws Robert and Anna, and his siblings Joyce and Kenneth.
Tommy will be remembered fondly for his unwavering dedication to his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom he adored deeply. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
