He is survived by his wife, Lori Stewart; his children, Brendon (Molly) and Haley (Shane); his grandchildren, Ella, Raylen, Mason, Maggie, and Sully; his brother, David; and his pets, Gizmo and Ozzy.
He was our Papa, known as T-Ray to his friends, and to his brother, Bubba. He was a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan, but the less said about that the better; his back up team was the Kansas City Chiefs which gave him three recent Super Bowl wins.
Over the course of his life, Tommy made countless friends and maintained a large friend circle; it's obvious based on his large Facebook presence. You would know you were a special friend if you received a "happy Friday" text. He enjoyed going on vacations with his family, waiting for all the other sports to finish because the only season that mattered was football season, and watching all of his grandkids grow up and throw tantrums. You could always find him on a golf course hacking away at a perfect game. Brendon is currently rifling through his comic book box(es). He had a love for Andy's ice cream, a (daily) Sonic sweat tea, and a chicken fried steak at Cotton Patch any time he could get back to Corsicana; if any of these businesses forecast a revenue loss in the next year, it's because Tommy is unable to support them.
We cannot imagine the ongoing story being told of his death in Heaven; however he hasn't been able to get through security yet because he has a pocket knife that Lori told him to leave in the car. His physical body and speech was limited on Earth, but now that his jaw is healed in Heaven, nobody has got a word in since. He's stubborn and never met a stranger, so he'll be talking for a while.
We invite you to honor the life of Tommy on Saturday July 26, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Lone Star Cowboy Church in Corsicana, Texas. Unlike Tommy, the Stewart family will provide an address and answer any questions about how to get there: Lone Star Cowboy Church, 4495 W Hwy. 22, Corsicana, TX 75110. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Tommy's name to the KC Pet Project (https://donate.kcpetproject.org/fundraiser/6373823) at 7077 Elmwood Ave., Kansas City, MO 64132. He will be missed.
Arrangements are in care of Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, Excelsior Springs.
