Thomas Donald Yeager, age 87, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at his home on Sam Road in Newnan. He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Barnett Yeager, and two children, Marvin and Lesley. He is also survived by his loving brother Tony Yeager and his sweet Makenzie and Liam, along with many nieces and nephews whom he adored. He was born in Coweta County on April 12, 1938. He and his son Marvin enjoyed celebrating birthdays on the same date. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Anne Yeager; his brothers Irvin, Leon, Grover, Eugene, Ray, Jimmy; and his sister Joyce Yeager Beckom. He grew up farming the land beside his dad and brothers. He went on to work at US Steel for many years, where he made lifelong friendships. You could always find him outside building dog houses for his beloved beagles, riding the tractor, putting up pasture fences, and tending to the many animals he had. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter. He enjoyed getting together with his buddies for coon and rabbit hunting and was known for leading the group in prayer before a hunt. He won first place in several bench shows with his black and tan dogs and always loved the sound of hearing his beagles barking while they ran through the woods. He was affectionately known as the Black and Tan man by his hunting buddies. He was a founding member of the former Emamnuel Baptist Church of Moreland. God was his master instilling a love and concern for others. In June, he and Sylvia celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary with family and friends. Visitation will be Monday, August 11, 2025, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a service to honor Tommy on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at 4:00 PM in the chapel of McKoon Funeral Home. Interment will be at Forest Lawn Memorial. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.mckoon.com. McKoon Funeral Home & Crematory 770-253-4580
