Tommye Livingston Johnson, 67, of Belleville, IL, born on November 2, 1956, in Miami, FL, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 12, 2024, in his home.
Having spent much of his life in Florida, he pursued his education at Florida A & M University before embarking on a 23-year career at Catalent Pharma Solutions, where he excelled as a Production Floor Manager.
A man of strong convictions and unyielding spirit, Tommye was known for his firm beliefs and opinions, which he held unapologetically. Despite his unwavering nature, he harbored a deep sense of care and protection for others, always willing to go to great lengths for those he cared about.
Tommye was an avid sports enthusiast and movie aficionado, he found joy in all facets of life, immersing himself in the world of sports and cinema. He joined the fraternal order, Omega Psi Phi, a close-knit community where friendship was revered as essential to the soul in the Spring of 1976.
Tommye was preceded in death by his mother, Leona Cook, his former in laws, Eugene & Bettye White, and his close friend and fraternal brother, Jay Jones.
Cherishing Tommye's memory are his sons, Tyree Johnson and Teeton Johnson of Jacksonville, FL; his siblings, Derrick (Norma) Cook of Shiloh, IL, Wendy Cottle of Miami, FL, and Donna (Brian) Reed of Edmond, OK; his nephews Ryan Cook of Colorado Springs, CO., Brandon Cook of Belleville, IL; Montrail Cook of Miami, FL., Marcus Cottle of Miami, FL. His niece Brianna Reed of Miami, FL. and his former wife and close friend, Sharon White of Jacksonville, FL, in addition to many other relatives, dear friends and fraternity brothers.
There will be no services.
