Toni McClure

Toni G. McClure, 74, of Eldon, IA passed away on Friday, September 19, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family. As were Toni's wishes a private family burial will be held in the Eldon Cemetery. Toni Gail McClure was born in Ottumwa, IA on June 27, 1951, the daughter of David and Roberta Robertson Shipler. She attended school in Eldon, IA graduating with the Cardinal High School Class of 1969. Shortly after graduation she began working at a bank in Des Moines. On March 6, 1971, she married the love of her life, Michael McClure. She soon became a loving mother to three children, Kristle, Brian, and Brad. Toni and Mike made their home in Eldon and would remain there for the rest of her life.

Toni spent time working at Whitey's in Eldon, as well as a cook for the Cardinal School District. She returned to banking at Libertyville Savings Bank where she worked as a bank teller for many years until her retirement.

Toni loved being a homemaker and caring for her family. As her family grew with the addition of grandchildren and most recently a great grandchild, they became the focus of her life. She jumped at every opportunity to babysit, RaeLynn. When she found time to herself she enjoyed oil painting and ceramics and found time to volunteer for fundraising efforts for the McHaffey Opera House in Eldon. Toni had the occasional night out with friends, and she was even known to get a little "Spicy" on occasion. Toni was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend who will be deeply missed by her family and her community.

Toni was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Cathy Irwin.

Left to honor her memory is her husband, Michael McClure of Eldon, IA; three children, Kristle McClure of Ottumwa, IA and Brian and Brad McClure of Eldon, IA; four grandchildren, Jonelle (Kyle) Sophy, Mackenzie (Charlie) Rachford, Tyler Ewing, and David Ewing; a great grandchild, RaeLynn Rachford; two siblings, Todd (Cathy) Shipler and Darcy (Tom) Heaton, as well as many extended family and friends.
