Tonia Sue Cox, 49, of Slanesville, West Virginia passed away Thursday, September 19, 2024 at UPMC Western Maryland in Cumberland.
She was born October 2, 1974 at Landover, Maryland and was the daughter of Evelyn Cordette Bailey Herndon of Oldtown, MD and the late Larry Herndon.
She was a 1992 graduate of Eleanor Roosevelt High School and had worked for Capitol Orthopedics and provided homecare for the elderly. She was Baptist by faith.
On July 26, 2008, she married Jeffrey Todd Cox, who survives.

Michael Herndon of Slanesville
Ernest Swartz (Mariah) of Paw Paw
One stepdaughter –
Amber Cox of Ashburn, VA
Two stepsons –
Matthew Cox of Ashburn
Morgan Cox of Ashburn
Four sisters –
Kasondra Lincoln of North Beach, MD
Ronda Sanford of Cumberland
Crystal Ward of Dunkirk, MD
Jamie Herndon of Oldtown, MD
One brother –
Scott Herndon (Melanie) of St. Mary's, MD
And eight grandchildren
The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 PM Friday, September 27 at Lighthouse Assembly of God Church where a Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday with Pastor Nathan Travis officiating.
