Tony Ray Langford, 69,of Prosperity, widower of Patricia Sheppard Langford, passed away on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at Lexington Medical Center.
Born on July 20, 1955, in Newberry, he was a son of the late Thomas Ray and Dorothy Jean Fulmer Langford. Tony retired after a distinguished career of over 40 years with Louise Rich/Kraft Foods. He was a member of Cross Point Church. Tony loved the outdoors where he found great pleasure in fishing and hunting. He was a member of the Stoney Hill Hunt Club.
He is survived by his step-mother who raised him as her son, Susan Crooks Langford of Newberry; a son, Pete (Becky) Elders of Prosperity; daughters, Hope (Pee Wee) Baxter of Newberry and Debbie Wessinger of Pomaria; a sister, Tena Kay Langford of Newberry; brothers, Terry (Beverly) Langford of Prosperity and Tim Langford of Newberry; nephews, Tanner Langford and Trevor (Haley) Langford; great-nephew, Carson Langford; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son-in-law, Scott Wessinger.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, September 23, 2024, at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Jeff O'Dell. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends in the chapel on Monday from 10:00 am until the hour of service
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cross Point Church, PO Box 1171, Newberry, SC 29108 or to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 42040, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-3000.
Active pallbearers will be Eddie Neelens, Robert Bartley, T Bartley, Dale Dickert, Tommy Madalena and Shane Smith.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Stoney Hill Hunting Club.
