Tony Anthony Montaño, age 62, passed away on November 5, 2025. A native of Chandler, Arizona, Tony was born on January 26, 1963 to the late Raul B. Montaño and Guadalupe “Lupe” Montaño.
Tony embraced life with enthusiasm, especially when it involved sports and friendly competition. He was a dedicated athlete, participating in the Special Olympics and enjoying his time in the bowling league with his friends. The thrill of the game also extended to the field, where he loved playing softball. Tony was a passionate fan, too, cheering loudly for his favorite teams: the Phoenix Suns, Arizona Diamondbacks, and the Arizona State University Sun Devils.
Away from the action, Tony had a variety of engaging hobbies. He was a creative spirit who loved building model cars and enjoyed simple pleasures like playing with his favorite rope on a stick and on his DS. He also had a fondness for classic cinema, enjoying older movies such as La Bamba, Grease, and Rocky.
But most importantly, Tony cherished time spent with those he loved. He adored his family, finding joy in shared adventures like going on vacations and riding the bumper cars. He also enjoyed eating out and had a playful side, loving to sneak late-night treats.
He is survived by sister-in-law Michele Sondra Montaño (Gilbert D. Montaño); his siblings Ramona Crespin, Oscar Montaño (Irma) and Inez Marrufo (Rudy); his nieces and nephews Robert L. Montaño, Gilbert L. Montaño (Kari), Jimmy Crespin, Candi L. Miranda (Tony), Serlinda Crespin, Dominque Montaño, Reneé L.
