Tony Frank Owens

Mr. Tony Frank Owens, 77, of Hartwell, passed away on Thursday, November 13, 2025 at the Rainey Hospice House in Anderson SC.

Born on February 22, 1948 in Royston, GA, he was the son of the late Frank Joe Owens and Hazel Brown Owens. Mr. Owens was the lead mechanic at the Hartwell Company from 1967 until its closing, following the closure he retired from the Harbin Lumber Company's Window & Door Division. Tony was also a member of the Hartwell Defense Force, and the Hartwell City Fire Dept. & Dive Team. He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife: Veronica Saylors Owens; son: T.J. Owens (Angela) of Hartwell; two daughters: Wendy Powell (Scott) and Shonda Risner, all of Hartwell; one sister: Barbara Chitwood of Hartwell; and ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren also survive. Mr. Owens is preceded in death by his parents; one son: Michael Cook; and one sister: Gail Dove.

The family will receive friends Monday, November 17, 2025 from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell. At other times the family will be at their respective homes.

A Funeral Service for Mr. Tony Owens will be held Monday, November 17, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Sam Duncan officiating. Mr. Owens requested to be cremated following the service.
