Tony Harrison Thomas, transitioned to his heavenly home on Saturday, January 10, 2026 in Fairfax, Virginia.
T.T., as he was lovingly called, was born on July 11, 1952, in Washington, D.C. and grew up in Vienna, Virginia. He was the eighth of nine children, growing up surrounded by the love and laughter of a large family.
T.T. was a student of the Fairfax County Public School system, where he attended the infamous Louise Archer Elementary and graduated from James Madison High School. T.T. was employed by the Fairfax County School System where he ensured the paint gleamed at every school he touched for 32 years. After retirement, T.T. graced the Alexandria Public School system as a custodian part-time to stay busy.
T.T. met Francine Carter, the love of his life, and they were married on December 3, 1976, in Alexandria, Virginia. They resided in Woodbridge, VA where he maintained the family home, including the pool that was the best spot for summer hangouts. He enjoyed making daiquiris with a knockout punch and waffles that were so good they didn't need syrup. T.T. was a gifted painter and home improvement connoisseur, there were many homes in the DMV that he put a paint brush and/or hammer to. He was also an avid golfer having tee times with his buddies at every opportunity. He enjoyed traveling with family to and from Williamsburg and Virginia Beach, Virginia, visiting New Orleans, Louisiana for Mardi Gras, and an occasional trip to Florida for a Disney World visit. T.T. enjoyed playing cards and an occasional lottery number. He loved football, he played Tight-End in his younger days and cheered for the Redskins (now Commanders) on Sundays.
T.T. leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Francine, his daughter Victoria, sons Dion, Darrin (Malika), grandsons' Vince and Darrin X.; his brother Kenneth L. Thomas (Lynn), sisters Janet D. Frye (Paul), Clara E. Thomas and mother-in-law Adelaide Agee. T.T. was preceded in death by his mother Rose Ophelia Ford, sisters Ivy Marie Ellis (Donald), Iris Carolyn Williams (Maury), Amie Williams, Mary Frances Honesty, and brother James Thomas. He also leaves a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins and many, many friends.
