Tony Varlos, 95, of Mount Vernon, Ohio, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2025. He was born on April 21, 1930, in Athens, Ohio, to the late George Varlos and Rosezenna Potter.
Tony proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War, achieving the rank of E-5. He was a devoted member of the Moose Lodge, AMVETS, and the VFW.
A lifelong car enthusiast, Tony loved old muscle cars and could often be found working on them or carefully waxing them until they shined. In his younger years, he enjoyed fishing, and throughout his life, he took great pride in caring for his yard, cultivating a beautiful space that reflected his love of nature and attention to detail.
Above all, Tony cherished his family. His kindness, dedication, and warmth touched everyone who knew him, and he will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his daughter Toni Lynn (Gary) Fox, granddaughter Erika (Richard) Morris, great grandsons Adam Morris and Azlan Morris and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his mother Rosezenna (A.B.) Potter, father George Varlos, brother Ernie Varlos, grandson Adam Fox and the love of his life & wife of 70 years Shirley Varlos (Wells).
A graveside service with military honors will be held on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at 12:15 PM at Mound View Cemetery in Mount Vernon, Ohio.
