Tonya Jean Jackman was born February 17th, 1973 to parents Sheila Lane Jackman and Daniel Ray Woods in Lincoln City, OR.

She was a beloved mother, sister, friend, and partner. She loved music, concert nights at Chinook Winds Casino, watching her weekly soap-opera, going on drives through the mountains, and going to thrift stores with family and friends. She was the type of person who could spark up a conversation with a stranger and make them feel like a friend. Often she would help anyone she could - sometimes to a fault. She believed deeply in the goodness of people, and had an unfailing willingness to listen and befriend anyone.

For nearly 25 years, she worked at Chinook Winds Casino, where she was known not just for her dedication, but for her kindness which she extended to co-workers, customers, and anyone who crossed her path. Tonya was a proud Siletz Tribal member and loved attending Siletz powwows every chance she could.

On November 16th, 2025 Tonya lost her battle to Diabetes and other chronic diseases. She will be extremely missed by friends, family, and her partner Delmar Peterson. Tonya was preceded in death by her mother Sheila Lane Jackman, uncle Daniel Jackman, father Daniel Ray Woods, and brother Robert Woods. She is survived by her daughter Cheyanne Jackman-Bartolo, siblings Michael Jackman, Mike Woods, Daniel Woods, Wendy Briesch, uncle Woody Muschamp, nephews Andrew Rambow, Edson Jackman, and Nokoah Jackman.

Memorial services will be held 1:00 p.m., Saturday, November 29, 2025 at the Bateman Funeral Home, 915 NE Yaquina Heights Dr. Newport, OR 97365. Rev. Eddie Brown will officiate.
